A couple of points on my policy:
I try to find the most current e-mail (which is actually the one you should use to send your comments to authors ^_~) of every author that is on the page, if I can find it. Then I explicitly ask their permission to post their stories. In a few (very few) cases, designated with a star "[*]" near the author's name, I haven't received any kind of response. If you know that author's more current e-mail (or any kind of e-mail in some cases) and are kind enough to provide it -- you're quite welcome to do so. If you're listed here and would like me to change your summaries or other info/take the story off the website completely -- treat yourself to some e-mail :)
I try to put up summaries, ratings etc that authors wrote up themselves. Many of the fics were saved from fanfiction.net so I preserved the summaries listed there. Sometimes I use the summaries I find on the people's websites. (Or on the archive sites similar to my own) To find more stories by the same author you might want to check out their website (if one is available) or try the http://www.fanfiction.net :)
Whenever you see a "read-to-find-out" instead of the actual pairing -- trust me, I'm not trying to be difficult! Sometimes essential points in the story can be given away by the pairing. I try to avoid that, unless the author explicitly lists the pairing in the summary or it's pretty obvious from the beginning (and doesn't spoil the joke in some cases). Mostly I'll give the pairing to you, because often it won't reveal the storyline :)
If you find broken links or formatting gotten out of hand and have a sudden urge to berate somebody -- e-mail me. I will welcome constructive criticism. I used to do the stories nicely in Text (*.txt) format, but it's simply not worth the time and effort anymore. Instead, I'll make sure that the formatting is well done, and that the viewer can change the size of the font if he wants to. Nowadays you'll find both Text and HTML formats here. Other than that all the names, comments, author notes and, basically, stories have been presented as the author intended them :)
I used to list characters for each story as well (I left SM section as it is), but now I'm too lazy and don't believe in spoiling a story like that anymore. In most cases, summaries are enough -- live with it :)
Some fandoms I'm simply done with, so I won't update them anymore. A good example would be SM, VoE, FF8, Digimon and HL. I'm still mildly interested in FF7, and I'm obsessing over everything else. In any case, you can expect me to update my archive as often as the author(s) post their stories in all the fandoms listed here. But, simply put, I (probably) won't add new authors to the fandoms I've just listed.
Wow, this was a long note. I can't believe you've read this far! ^_^ Hope this helped understanding the archiving policy.
Oh, and by the way, I don't do submissions. That's why it's called "My Favourite Fanfiction". You're welcome to send stuff in -- although why bother when ff.net is just around the corner? -- but I reserve the right to post at my discretion and without apologizing profusely :)
Err...should I add that I don't claim any rights on any of the characters used in the stories or on stories themselves? Nah, redundant. ;)
