KoF '95 FEATURES

CONTENTS

• All previous characters and their respective teams returned, except the American Sports Team. But replacing them are 3 of the most venomous opponents that graced The King of Fighters 1995. They are Iori Yagami, Eiji Kisaragi (Art of Fighting), and Billy Kane (Fatal Fury). This trio forms the powerful Rivals Team of this year's tournament, each one fighting for his own revenge.
• This tournament's newcomers are Iori Yagami; Eiji Kisaragi (AoF); and Billy Kane (Fatal Fury); including Kyo's father, Saishu Kusanagi.
• Each character gains at least 1 new attack or move, even MAX Specials!
• After defeating the 8 teams, there are two bosses to encounter: Saishu Kusanagi is the intermediate boss for the first round. Rugal comes back as your final boss, with a bigger and tougher form and personality: he is now Omega Rugal.
• NEW CONTROLS: Body Toss Attack by pressing [C] and [D] Buttons, causing damage and knockdown. Chouhatsu / Taunt by pressing [B] and [C] Buttons, reducing your opoonent's POW Gauge. Off the Wall Jumps have also become available and more useful.
• "Punch Grab" becomes available. While dodging an attack by pressing [A] and [B] Buttons, quickly press any attack button to counterattack during the useful sidestep maneuver. This also inflicts damage!
• Dashing Long Jumps become available, allowing you to leap higher, faster, and farther. Just hold jumping-forward during a dash to execute the dashing leap.
• Several air-juggling combos and special chained combos have become available and can be done further. See below for sample combos list.
• Guard Counter becomes available. With a MAX POW Gauge, quickly pull an attack (Special or Standard) at the exact moment of blocking the attack. This enables a powerful counterattack against your opponent.
• Guard Crush becomes available. An offensive player can destroy the blocking capacity of a constantly guarding opponent. When Guard Crushed, a character becomes very vulnerable to subsequent attacks and loses his ability to block for a split second. So, don't abuse blocking so much! Try cancelling a defense into a successful offense and gain an edge over the opoonent!
• Saving the best part of all... TEAM EDIT! Unlike the previous tournament wherein you are stuck in one team of 3 preset characters, now you can form your own team of powerful warriors to participate in the tournament! YES Team Edit allows you to choose 3 characters from different teams. NO Team Edit forces you to choose a team with its preset characters. With a team of its original members, you can watch their small cinematic ending at the end of the game!

• "BLOOD & BOUNCE"
  This trick works for the home console systems: during the game demo, watch out for the demonstration battle. Wait for the high score screen to appear. If so, press [A] and [D] for P1 controller, and press [B] and [C] for P2 controller simultaneously. If done right, blood splattering during the battles and Mai's bouncy chest should exist on your new game.
• CLONED CHARACTER TEAM
  This trick works for the home console systems: choose "Yes" at the Team Edit screen. At the character-select screen, press and hold START at the 15 second timer. While holding START, press D + [D], then L + [A], then R + [C], and U + [B]. You can select any character more than once in your 3-fighter team. You can also form a team consisting of 3 identical characters!
• SELECT SAISHU & OMEGA RUGAL
  For both arcade systems and home consoles: At the Team Edit Screen, press and hold START at the 15 second timer. While holding START, press U + [B], then R + [C], then L + [A], and D + [D]. Saishu and Omega Rugal must appear on both sides of the timer, which restarts at 15 seconds. You can do this trick without using Team Edit, but you'll be unable to select Saishu and Omega Rugal.

• KYO
  Perform the New Wave Smash. When its second hit connects, perform any of the following while the opponent is airborne: Darkness Sweep, Demon Scorcher, or MAX Great Serpent Wave before your opponent hits the ground.
• IORI
  Perform a deep jumping [D], standing [C], follow up with 2 Deadly Hollyhocks, and finish with either Darkness Sweep, Moon Harp Negative or Demon Scorcher.
• RYO
  Perform the Kyokugen Punch Dance up-close, and after the last hit of this attack, do any of the following while the opponent is airborne: Tiger Flame Fist, Tiger Roar or Fists' Flurry before your opponent hits the ground.
• ROBERT
  Perform the Kyokugen Kick Dance up-close, and after the last hit of this attack, do any of the following while the opponent is airborne: Dragon Attack Fist, Dragon Fang or Phantom Kick before your opponent hits the ground.
• TAKUMA
  Perform the Lightning Gust Kick and connect with any of these attacks while the opponent is airborne: a standing [C], Tiger Flame Fist, or Fists' Flurry right before your opponent lands on the ground.
• KING
  Perfrom a deep jumping [D], crouching [C], cancel to any of these attacks: Tornado Kick, Trap Shot or MAX Illusion Dance
• Actually, you can start a combo with any character using a deep jumping [C] or [D]; standing [C] or [D]; crouching [A] or [B]; standing [C] or [D], then any high-damage Special Attack or MAX Special.

• RYO / ROBERT / TAKUMA / YURI
  Perform the Tiger Flame Fist, then quickly perform the Supreme Tiger Roaring Fist as soon as you recover from the first shot.
• ATHENA
  Perform her MAX Shining Crystal Bit, then her MAX [A] Crystal Shoot, then quickly perform her [C] Psycho Ball as soon as Athena recovers from her MAX Crystal Shoot.
• KING
  Perform a [B] Double Strike, then a [B] Venom Strike; after recovering, repeat with another [B] Double Strike, [B] Venom Strike... for up to 3 shots on-screen at once.
• OMEGA RUGAL
  Perform an [A] Cyclone Sock, then perform a [C] Kaiser Wave as soon as Rugal recovers from his first projectile.

• CHARACTER NAME & PORTRAIT
  Indicates the portrait and name of the character engaged in battle for that round.
• VITALITY GAUGE
  The long yellow health meter of your character. If your character blocks Special Attacks or suffers enemy attacks, his health gradually depletes toward the Timer. Damage taken depends on the attack suffered from the opponent. When your character loses all his Hit Points, he is Knocked-Out and eliminated from that match. His next partner will jump into action on the next round. Winning a round restores your health depending on the time left. More time recovers more health.
• TEAM PARTNER PORTRAITS
  These are the 2 portraits found directly below your Active fighter's portrait. This enables you to know if you have any partners left to fight in that match. The fighter exactly below your Active fighter's portrait will be the next to enter in case your Active fighter loses. A defeated partner is marked with an X, to indicate that fighter is exhausted for that battle. If your 2 partners are defeated and your last fighter loses, you lose the match and the game is over. If a partner is still left undefeated, you can perform the Teammate Assist Attack.
• TIMER
  This indicates the seconds left in the round. A round of battle involving 2 opposing fighters has 60 seconds. If the time eplapses before either fighter is Knocked-Out, the one with more Hit Points wins that round. If both characters have equal health, the round is a Draw Game, and the next set of partners will fight. The team with the most number of previous victories will win overall. If the last round is still a Draw, the last fight will be one-on-one, each fighter with a Danger health. The winner is the overall team victor. If it is still a draw, both players lose. Time also determines the amount of health regained by a fighter after winning that round.
• PLAYER STATUS
  This displays the player's current status. On a one-player game, the score displays above the Vitality Gauge of the character. In a versus mode, a challenger is marked CHALLENGER, while a victor is marked BEAT BY ?? depending how many times that player has won several matches. In case the player defeats his challenger, he will resume his previous match interrupted.
• MAIN SCREEN
  This displays the fight of the 2 characters, with the country's background, etc.

POW Gauge	Status

	Amass more POW! You're almost there!
	MAX Power! You can now inflict 50% more damage for a limited time or execute POW Special Attacks!

NOTE: When your character's health gauge flashes red at Danger (30% or less), MAX Gauge is no more a requirement to execute POW Special Attacks. POW Specials can now be done infinitely, as long as your character survives. When you perform POW Specials at Danger health and at MAX Power, the POW Special does 25% more damage. Aside from charging POW, receiving damage from attacks or by blocking also fills up your POW Gauge slowly. Receiving more damage fills the bar faster, so you can use this to your advantage, at the cost of having a very low health.
