| Ugine Frank, better known as The Dinosaur Hunter, is one of SGF's most famous characters. Ugine first appeared in The Island, followed by his return appearance in The Island II, although some may notice him sitting in the crowd in The Race. He was there to cheer on his best friend, Jekk Porkins, who ended up winning the race. He treated Jekk to a drink after the race to congratulate his friend. Ugine has his own TV show, The Dinosaur Hunter Show. He knows everything there is to know about dinosaurs, including species, height, and whether the dino is carnivorous or herbivorous. With all this said, of course he was the perfect candidate to travel to The Island for Mr. Hammond's mission. Ugine has had close encounters with death in his life, but none like the encounters he had while on The Island. In the movie "The Island" his whole team is eaten or crushed, even Jekk. Ugine wasn't saddened by this tragic event. He said it was just an effect of nature, and that was something that he could live with. The Dinosaur Hunter went for the datachips after he was paid by Hammond for going to The Island. He read and studied hundreds of disks full of information on dinosaurs. He became very enlightened, but during this time of studying The Dinosaur Hunter Show went off the air. He seemed to have nowhere to go in life when his comm unit beeped one night . . . Mr. Hammond asked him to return to The Island, and he eagerly agreed. He couldn't give up the chance to see some more dinos face to face. He used this opportunity to start The Dinosaur Hunter Show freshly. Footage gathered from his second trip to The Island shows a full grown Brachiosaurus and a baby T-rex. This informed the rest of the galaxy of how advanced technology was these days. After another narrow escape from The Island, Ugine and his crew were forced to abandon their ship, and they froze in space. They safely landed on the planet Fest, and were discovered by two stormtroopers named Dev and Lob. Ugine and his friends were thawed out and imprisoned. Several days later the newly formed Rebel Alliance attacked the Imperial outpost on Fest and Ugine was rescued. He decided to devote his efforts to destroying the Empire that had caused him so much trouble and had gotten many of his friends killed, or as close to death as they could come. To get back at the Empire Ugine joined the Rebel Alliance, and to this day is an active defender of peace and justice, although he isn't about to give up his love for dinosaurs. His show has remained on the air for several years, and he hopes for many more to come. |
