Dear
Kim,
There
was a trial of seatbelts on school buses done last year, the results of
which will be investigated by the School Transport Safety
Interdepartmental Working Group. They will also be investigating
legal responsibility and compliance issues and are due to provide
recommendations by April 2004.

Reply to Dianne Reilly's office from
Kim Bax (mum) - sent
on the 25th January 2004:-
Dear Kellie, Thankyou for your email of 25th January 2004. I am co-ordinating a State-wide campaign (Queensland), for the installation of seatbelts on school buses - and I'm seeking feedback from ALL members of the State Parliament in regard to this issue. I assume that Mudgeeraba is in the State of Queensland and that members of your electorate use school buses? I therefore look forward to receiving a response to my initial inquiry. Thanking you in anticipation. All the best - Kim Bax Dianne Reilly MP sent me a reply to the email above, on the 2nd February 2004 - check out the left hand side of this page (hi-lited in green). Read that, then read my response below (hi-lited in blue) - and sent on the 3rd Feb. 2004:- (Note - weeks later, on the 2nd March 2004, Dianne Reilly had still not replied to the email below - and a reminder was sent. It can be accessed by clicking HERE) Thankyou Dianne (or rather Kellie), for your email to me of the 2nd February 2004. However, NOWHERE within your reply can I find any answer to - or acknowledgement of - the questions I actually asked. For your information, and as a reminder, I've reproduced them for you. There were three of them:-
These are very important points - in fact, these questions are FAR too important to be "dodged." Your electorate deserves a coherent response - in other words, a response that acknowledges that these VERY SPECIFIC questions exist. Perhaps, in your next email, you might find it useful to number each point (e.g. 1, 2 and 3). In that manner, you would be assured of addressing (and acknowledging), them I look to hearing from you again in the near future. Regards, Kim Bax (Mrs.)
