| AN INTERVIEW WITH� HENRIK FROM THE UNISEX. SO WHO IS IN THE UNISEX AND WHAT DOES EACH MEMBER DO? We got Andy on drums, Henrik on bass guitar, Jonas on vocals, Kristofer on lead guitar, Rask plays rhythm guitar and last but not least, we got the cat on piano...loads of people HOW DID YOU ALL MEET AND COME TO FORM A BAND TOGETHER? Think it was like 2.5 years ago We all were in different bands, Jonas and Rask had a punk rock band, Me and Kristofer were playing some weird hardcore soul music at the time and Andreas and the Cat did some studio gigging. One night we just bumped into each other we were quite pissed and ended up in a rehearsal. It all just felt right from the first minute. It just happened really... HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC? We are a rock band playing pop...some psychedelic stuff in their...timeless pop perhaps...!? WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? People, dogs, houses, air, cars...we could go on forever.. everything around you influences you. The non-pretentious answer would be: Sly stone, Rolling Stones and the Beatles (plus 1000 more artists and bands and songs, and moves and.....). WHERE DID THE NAME THE UNISEX COME FROM? It just came up when Jonas our singer were out buying shoes one day, sc unisex shoes...we just needed a name and the Unisex did the job. HAVE ANY OF YOU EVER MARRIED BRITNEY SPEARS AS A JOKE GONE WRONG AFTER A TWO DAY BOUT OF DRINKING? ohh at last a decent question, believe Jonas is guilty again, Unfortunately it didn't work out between them. The Cat did actually change rings with Kate Hudson after two weeks of smack...but that's another story. WHAT ARE THE BEST AND WORST PARTS ABOUT TOURING? Touring is THE best thing you can do, You get to play every night.. yeah the Music is the best thing about touring then the party. The worst thing has to be lack of sleep and that you smell pretty bad all the time. DO YOU GET NERVOUS BEFORE GOING ON STAGE? It happens, do you? HOW DO YOU STRUCTURE YOUR SET? Don't know. we play the songs we feel like every night, try to change the set every gig..some ups and downs.. WHICH TRACK DO YOU MOST ENJOY PERFORMING? Depends but new stuff is always fun to play WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO AFTER A GIG? have a drink IS IT DISHEARTENING ON THE NIGHTS FEW PEOPLE TURN UP TO SEE YOU? Not really cause they are there to see us so we play for them. doesn't make any difference really but we do prefer stadiums. IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN A LIFETIME OF FREE AND AVAILABLE SEX OR A LIFETIME OF FREE AND AVAILABLE BOOZE AND FAGS, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE? huh tough one but think we go for the sex, Booze and fags you can buy, we don't feel as comfortable buying sex. DOES EATING CHEESE GIVE YOU NIGHTMARES? Jupp...same with you? YOU HAVE A NEW SINGLE, �PIGS AND THEIR FARMS�. WHAT IS IT ABOUT?! Its about the sad nightlife in Stockholm, about hirarki general...and there's a lot in there for you to figure out... ANY PLANS TO RELEASE AN ALBUM ANYTIME SOON? Yeah we are gonna start record this spring, Its gonna be a smash WOULD YOU EVER CONSIDER DOING ANY COVERS? If it feels right and we do it our way.. like once, don't think we would have it on a record though. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT YOU COULD MAKE AS A BAND? Play on the moon. IS THE BAND YOUR FULL TIME CAREER NOW OR DO YOU STILL HAVE OTHER JOBS? We do have other jobs every now and then to pay bills and shit like that...but its pretty much our full time career WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE TV SHOW AS A CHILD? The Bears magazine, a Swedish show..dont think you heard about it over there. Dr snuggles have been inspiring for our music as well... The cosmos cat rocks. DO YOU WEAR SOCKS IN BED? When we pass out yes, otherwise we try not to. DO YOU KNOW ANYONE CALLED FRED? Fred means peace in Swedish WHICH DO YOU ENJOY DOING THE MOST� WRITING SONGS, RECORDING THEM OR PLAYING THEM LIVE? Its all good fun, cant really pick one... WHAT FIRST MADE YOU WANT TO PICK UP A GUITAR AND JOIN/FORM A BAND? think Kurt Cobain had something to do with that a very long time ago... a lot of things, music interest, wanting to write stuff that hasn't been done before, contribute with something new and fresh. WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT STARTING UP A BAND? Don't look at others, be inspired without being a rip-off, don't listen to much to others..do what u feel like doing, have fun.. do it for the sex and the drugs!! ALL QUESTIONS BY SCREAMING TARTS. |
