THE EIGHTIES MATCHBOX B-LINE DISASTER + LITTLE HELL + LE NEON.
AT HULL ADELPHI.  10/ 10/ 02.

Last night was another of those classic nights that the Adelphi will never forget. All three bands and the night in general was amazing. First up were Le Neon. No idea who they are so theres not a great deal I can tell you about them. What I can say though is that live they are fantastic. Its hard to place them into one genre of music. More than anything I guess they are a rock band. Their lead singer was very cool and the band provided one of the best set endings ive seen in ages. They totally rocked.
We saw Little Hell nearly two years ago when they supported Queen Adreena. Since then their line up has changed a lot. Lucie has left leaving Steve to take on vocal duties. New and very sexy member Natasha has joined as a bassist while guitarist Dennis and drummer Clive complete the line up. The main purpose of this tour was to promote current single Everybodys Cursed and forthcoming album Demonic Advisory Centre. Most of the tracks sang tonight were from said album. Little Hell are a poppy rocky band, alittle like Easyworld.
When I saw headliners The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster at the Leeds Festival earlier in the year I wasnt very impressed. However, after now seeing them in such a small venue, my opinion has changed for the better. The band are made up of Guy, Andy, Marc, Sym and Tom. They are all aged between 18 and 22 and recently released debut album Horse Of The Dog through their own record label. Impressive stuff for a group so young.
They arent the type of band I would personally listen to on CD but live they dont fail to entertain. Front man Guy is mental. He spent more time in the crowd than he did on stage. He is very energetic and likes to get the crowd involved as much as he can. He succeeded and helped to form the biggest mosh pit ive ever seen at The Adelphi. Its a wonder the place is still standing. Its a converted house. It wasnt made to with stand such an event.
The album has 10 tracks on it and lasts 26 minutes. Tonight they performed 11 tracks in a 30 minute set. They began with singles Celebrate Your Mother and Morning Has Broken and went on to play other tracks including Whack Of Shit, Charge The Guns, Chicken and Fish Fingers. Mmmmmmm. Tasty.
