| AN INTERVIEW WITH.... JAMIE FROM REUBEN. WHO IS IN REUBEN AND WHAT DOES EACH MEMBER DO? Jamie plays guitar and sings, Jon plays bass an sings, Guy plays lots of drums. HOW DID YOU ALL MEET AND COME TO FORM A BAND TOGETHER? Jon and I (jamie) were at school together, we were playing in bands since 1996 ish and then we met Guy a couple years ago through the man that ran their practice rooms. Very romantic. YOU USED TO BE CALLED ANGEL. WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME? Because there were loads of other bands called ANGEL and we'd heard that at least one of them had got into some legal shit so..yeah we chnaged it just before our first ep was released. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC? very fast, very dangerous WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? the usual. nirvana, beatles, queen. to be more specific, um vex red, ursa, caretaker. not fucking black sabbath!!! IF YOU GOT TO MEET ANY OF YOUR HEROES, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO THEM? yo AS A BAND, WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE? the fact that cool dudes like yous know about us and write to US asking US to be in your fanzines. IF YOU COULD PLAY WITH ANY OTHER BAND IN THE WORLD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY? nirvana...duh...but seriuosly at the moment, probably a band called 'the start' from america. we love their album. YOU HAVE TOURED WITH A LOT OF BANDS. WHO HAVE YOU MOST ENJOYED PLAYING WITH? they've all been excellent people. my personal favourite band was mclusky, i loved their music long before we played with them, but i couldn't pick out who were our best buddies, they're all real cool dudes and we'd like to tour with them all again. YOU�RE ABOUT TO TOUR WITH KINESIS AND MISS BLACK AMERICA. YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IT? yeah man should be excellent, playing a lot of cool places, two good bands. WHAT ARE THE BEST AND WORSE GIGS YOU HAVE PLAYED? best gig at the astoria, supporting vex red. the worst gig was at this army pub in aldershot when we were very small...argh very fast very dangerous... WILL YOU BE PLAYING ANY OF THIS SUMMERS FESTIVALS? hope fucking so man. otherwise we'll be firing our agents. WHICH REUBEN LYRIC ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF? 'if all i am is flesh and blood i might as well be dog food' have a think WHAT FIRST MADE YOU WANT TO PICK UP A GUITAR AND FORM A BAND? queen. i wnated ot be brian may and freddie mercury. jon wanted to be in a band i think because a lot of his friends were, i dunno about Guy... WHAT FIVE THINGS COULD YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT? oxygen water sustenance shelter rock WHAT DO YOU THINK OF TV SHOWS SUCH AS POPSTARS AND FAME ACADEMY? easy ratings easy money WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME? read. seriuosly. watch films, hang out with friends. same things everyone does. no wait i mean, kill pigs with my bare hands... DO YOU THINK BRITAIN SHOULD GO TO WAR WITH IRAQ? hell no man. but i don't know enough about the situation to really have an opinion. war is never good. but self defence...who knows? WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE? love. seriously. i'm really really seriuos. it sounds like a joke but it's not. love. YOU RECENTLY RELEASED A SINGLE, �LETS STOP HANGING OUT�. WHAT IS IT ABOUT? it's about how if you're with someone and they cheat on you that you can't stop loving them just like that and it's a lot harder than just 'let's stop hanging out'. and no it's not from personal experience, thank god, just thinking about it all... HAVE YOU GOT ANY PLANS TO RELEASE AN ALBUM? yeah man, as soon as we get a record deal...yo!
