| AN INTERVIEW WITH�. POLLY FROM PHLUID. WHO IS IN PHLUID AND WHAT DOES EACH MEMBER DO? Polly - Vocals and vainity, Ginna - Beats and Big Shoes, JeFD - Bass and Haze, Scottish - Guitars and Tantrums, Robbie G - Guitars and Porn. HOW DID YOU ALL MEET AND COME TO FORM PHLUID TOGETHER? Me and Scottish met in Uni, then he got kicked out, along came Jef, we gigged in bands for a while then got back together with Scottish, who then shared a house with me. Years later I met Robbie in a pub and asked him to join, he turned up at the audition with Ginna and the rest is History. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC? RAWK WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? Loads! I'm into stuff like David Bowie, Faster Pussycat, Fiona Apple, Atari Teenage Riot, Tori Amos, david gray, Dido, BackYard Babies, The WildHearts, Ginna loves his BIG Rock n Roll and Adam and The Ants, Rob is into METAL!! and ...er ... Maria Carey (????), Scottish like alsoets including NIN, Wildies and Jef likes his dance and trippy stuff. To much to mention we don't comply to one gerne but I suppose we all like our dirty rock n roll and glam melodies. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO CALL YOURSELVES PHLUID? Just one of those drunken nights, we had trouble thinking of a name coz everything seemed cliched or obvious, we wanted a name that was nutral, Fluid was chosen, then some had it so we changed the spelling. Now we think it's dead cool. YOU HAVE BEEN TOGETHER A FEW YEARS NOW. YOU HAVEN'T HAD MUCH MAJOR SUCCESS YET. HAS THERE EVER BEEN ANY TIMES WHEN YOU HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT HANGING UP YOUR FEATHER BOAS AND GIVING UP? Probably, but I'm going down fighting! Fuck 'em they're not beating me (who's paranoid). Basicaly we love what we do, if we didn't we would have packed it in years ago. AS A BAND, WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE? The album and playing to 7000 people at the breeze festival while the band on the other stage played to about 100. and who were that band? Insence, who are now called The Music, just shows ya ... something, I don't know what but it's not in our favour! I do like the Music tho. PHLUID ISN'T YOUR MAIN EARNER. WHAT ARE YOUR OTHER JOBS? I'm a Reny Boy, Ginna is a Chistian Dior model, Jef is a gusset tester, Rob is a Give Way sign and Scottish is a professinal Scotsman. IF YOU COULD PLAY WITH ANY OTHER BAND IN THE WORLD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY? Er .. blimey ... I'd sing in the wildhearts or be david Bowies mic stand. WHICH BANDS HAVE YOU MOST ENJOYED PLAYING WITH? IN A NON SEXUAL WAY OF COURSE! HEHE! Drugdealer Cheerleader are a great set of lads as are Catylyst, Infinitum and loads of other up and coming acts, as for bigger bands ... Mark from Terrorvision was very freindly, Rachel Stamp and Sack Trick are great to (simper simper, luvvie Luvvie) WHAT ARE THE BEST AND WORSE GIGS YOU HAVE PLAYED? Best - Breeze, Driffield, Selby, Royal Park Cellars, Worst - Botany Bay - Tottenham NEVER EVER GO THERE! YOU KEEP COMING BACK TO PLAY GIGS IN DRIFFIELD. ERM........ WHY?!
