KIRST FROM KARN8.

WHO IS IN KARN8 AND WHAT DOES EACH MEMBER DO?
The members of KARN8 are: Kirst - Lead vocals Bones - Guitar Kinghorn - Synths. Sammy Lee will be playing drums at Scamfest on the 5th of July, this will be his last gig with the band.
HOW DID YOU ALL MEET AND COME TO FORM A BAND TOGETHER AND WHEN?
Bones and Kirst have been writing and playing together for years. They met Sammy Lee at Kingfisher music Fleet where he works.............Kinghorn was an old school friend of his.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC?
Dark Dirty Rock
WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?
The main ones are Marilyn Manson, Alice in Chains, Nine Inch Nails and Queen Adreena.
WHERE DID THE NAME KARN8 COME FROM?
When we were thinking of a name we realised that a lot of the words we liked began with carn, such as carnage carnal etc. We stumbled across carnate which means ' to be embodied in flesh'. Changing the c to a k and the ate to an 8 looked better as a logo.
YOU�RE LOOKING FOR A NEW DRUMMER. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OLD ONE?!
Sammy Lee has been in another band for quite some time. He was finding it more and more difficult to divide his time between Karn8 and Archie and the instincts as both bands were becoming more and more popular. Archie won the XFM battle of the bands competition in May which opened a lot of doors for them. So he decided to leave us and concentrate on Archie.
WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU LOOKING FOR TO FILL THE VACANCY?
We are looking for a drummer who is confident, comitted and determind to succeed. Someone who gets on well with others and kicks arse on stage. Karn8 are a very visual band so the image is just as important as the music.
AS A BAND, WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENTS?
The biggest achievment has been the amount of positive feedback and support we've had from so many people. We're just happy that so many like what we do.
DO YOU HAVE ANY RELEASES WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
There should be a limited edition CD out soon which will feature Sammy Lee. A lot of gigs were cancelled, due to the lack of a drummer, and this has given us time to write some new material so we'll keep you posted.
WHICH OF YOUR LYRICS ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
I [Kirst] always like it when a song seems to write itself such as Wicked Boy, Yours and Should know better, those lyrics just came out so natural.
WHAT FIVE THINGS COULD YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT?
Food, Water, Shelter, my partner and maybe a CD player. Posessions don't mean as much to me as they used to. Cheesy I know but true.
ON THE WAY BACK FROM THE RECENT DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL YOU WERE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED?
On the way back from download our van was hit by a lorry, which dragged us along the M1 and threw us into another car. Scarrry Shittt!!!
IS EVERYONE OK?
We are all fine and lucky to be alive.
IF YOU FOUND OUT YOU ONLY HAD ONE DAY TO LIVE, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND IT?
Worrying about the pain probably. That's why it's best not to know.
WHICH BANDS DID YOU SEE AT DOWNLOAD?
Quite a few. My favourites were Marilyn Manson, Queen Adreena and 80's matchbox b-line disaster.
METALLICA SUCKED DON�T YOU THINK?
I didn't see them so I can't comment.
DO YOU GET NERVOUS BEFORE GOING ON STAGE?
Only the first time, now never... just excited and I think it's cos I really believe in what we're doing
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO AFTER A GIG?
Get a drink!
IF YOU COULD PLAY WITH ANY BAND IN THE WORLD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
Marilyn Manson cos I want to know what they're really like backstage.
WHAT FIRST MADE YOU WANT TO PICK UP A GUITAR AND JOIN/FORM A BAND?
Watching Sisters of Mercy on Top of the pops..and the first thing I picked up was a pair of drumsticks! WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT STARTING UP A BAND?
Don't expect too much too soon, just keep at it and have fun!
