| AN INTERVIEW WITH.... FIN. WHO IS IN FIN AND WHAT DOES EACH MEMBER DO? Jamie Evans (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar) writes the songs with Tim Wilson (Producer/Electric Guitar). In the studio Jamie is hands on with keys & bass, whilst live James Hartley (Bass/Programming) Keys, and Acoustic when required. Tim Trotter is our Tub-thumper. HOW DID YOU ALL MEET AND COME TO FORM FIN TOGETHER? We met through gigging with various bands. It all came together beautifully..... like it was meant to be !!! HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC? Ecclectic, Melodic, Cool WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? Anything we've heard whilst recording has ended up in the melting pot, there have been no limits. YOU HAVE A NEW SINGLE, 'WAKING UP ON A SUNDAY', COMING OUT. TELL US ABOUT IT. Due out Sept 22nd, available at all good Indie shops etc. We'd demo'd this song three times before settling on this arrangment, But we knew from the first it was a single. DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS TO RELEASE AN ALBUM? Absolutely, in the next year for def. DO YOU GET NERVOUS BEFORE GOING ON STAGE? Not at all. HOW DO YOU STRUCTURE YOUR SET? Whatever feels best, but we always end with 'Spin'. WHICH TRACK DO YOU MOST ENJOY PERFORMING? Waking up on a Sunday or Spin. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO AFTER A GIG? Get a drink, get some fresh air. WHO ARE YOUR FAVOURITE BANDS AT THE MOMENT? Queens of the Stone Age, The Mars Volta, The Stranglers. The latest Johnny Cash album is awesome. Jim - I saw QOTSA at 'V' last weekend, best live band i've seen for years. WHAT IS THE MOST EMBARRASSING ALBUM YOU OWN? Meatloaf - Bat of hell 2, an old girlfriend bought it for me........ That's why she's my ex !!!! DO YOU EVER READ ANY OF THE MESSAGES YOUR FANS LEAVE ON YOUR FORUM? Jim's on it, he's always making sure everyone knows what's going on. IF YOU WERE INVISIBLE FOR A DAY, WHAT WOULD YOU GET UP TO? Ride around in a convertable freaking people out !!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK OF TV SHOWS SUCH AS POP IDOL AND FAME ACADEMY? I want my license revoked !!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK OF BUSTED? My mate saw them at 'One Live' in Leicester. 70,000 people singing their songs, he said he got quite emotional.... I slapped him !!!!!! WHAT FIRST MADE YOU WANT TO PICK UP A GUITAR AND FORM A BAND? Jimi Hendrix, Say no more !!! WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR ANYONE THINKING ABOUT STARTING UP A BAND? Don't lie to yourself. If you know you've got it, then go for it. Self believe is everything. Focus and commitment to making it work are essential. There are a shit load of people out there (including your best mate that your in a band with now) that will drop away ...... Remember, you're only as strong as your weakest link.
