ANTIPRODUCT + TORSOHORSE.
AT SCARBOROUGH KAZBAH. 20/ 07/ 03.

Torsohorse recently signed to Independent label Native Records and are about to release the long awaited debut mini album Freak Show. Their set tonight featured tracks from said album including Every Dog Has Its Day along with older tracks such as This Is War and Labels.
I must have seen the band well over 30 times now and Ive tried to like them, I really have, but even after all this time, they still dont do anything for me.
They hype themselves up way too much and seem to have quite big egos. They really arent anything special. Their songs dont exactly have great lyrics and their stage presence isnt exactly blinding. Adam now has a head mike, like the ones Busted wear, which makes it even harder for me to take these guys seriously.
Apparently, as the band were loading their equipment back on to their trailer after the gig, venue door staff assaulted them along with members of their road crew. Unfortunately I did not witness these events so cannot confirm exactly what happened but it seems most of the trouble was down to a member of the Kazbah staff who is currently having marital problems.
Antiproduct is five people who were born in four different countries, have nine nations of origin and cannot boast of sounding, playing or being like any other band ever. This gig was part of their Bringin The War To Your Shore tour.
They opened with Thank God Im Right, taken from second album Made In USA. The dedicated fans were loving it but the other people present didnt seem to know what to make of their performance.
Turnin Me On seemed to last for ages. Once the track seemed as though it had finished, it started over again and again and again.
The master, Alex Kane came into the crowd on several occasions. The main time being during Bungee Jumping People Die. He wanted to get the whole crowd to sing along to the track. He made everyone form a circle around him and passed around the microphone. By this point everyone, apart from Torsohorse, seemed to be enjoying themselves. Even the guy in the Slayer t-shirt and the guy going under the name Jesus.
New and radio friendly pop single Better Than This is fantastic. Way better than most of the stuff that gets into the chart. Better than The Darkness too. I think Alex is alittle jealous of the recent success that The Darkness have had. I dont blame him either as Antiproduct are much more entertaining than what The Darkness will ever be. At the bottom of their set-list was a note saying The Darkness are the future. Lets prove them soooooooo wrong.
Antiproduct are the past, present and the future. These guys are amazing and Alex Kane is a comic genius. The track Best Day Of Your Life was written on the set-list but sadly wasnt performed. The track Hey, Lets Get It On wasnt written on the set-list but was performed. It all added to the confusion and fun. Cant wait for the York gig.
