Cherry Ham Glaze
Submitted by: Andie A.
This
is an old family favorite that is a Holiday tradition at our house. It
is easy to make and is requested every Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Ingredients:
1/4 Cup Cherry Preserves
2 Teaspoons Prepared Mustard
Dash of Ground Cloves
Directions:
Combine the cherry preserves, mustard, and cloves in a mixing bowl until evenly mixed. Store covered until ready to use.
At
the last 15 minutes of baking time for your ham, use a spoon or a
baster to remove the fat from the bottom of the pan. Spoon 1/2 of the
glaze over the ham and let continue baking for 10 more minutes. After
the 10 minutes has passed or the until your baking thermometer reads
140 degrees, spoon the remaining glaze over the ham and let finish
baking.
The glaze is best fresh made, but
it can be refrigerated for a day or so. If the glaze has been
refrigerated, it must be taken out of the refrigerator well before use
and warmed to room temperature before use.
Makes about 1/4 cup of glaze.
