Ingredients:

Bread:

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast (can use instant)
1 cup warm water (120*F)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Topping:

1/4 cup prepared Italian salad dressing
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground oregano
1/4 tsp dried thyme
A dash of ground pepper
1-2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Combine the first four ingredients in a large bowl.

Combine water and oil in a small bowl and add to flour mixture. Add additional flour if needed to form a soft dough. Remove dough from bowl and place onto a floured surface. Knead for 1-2 minutes or until smooth and elastic.

Place dough in a greased bowl, turning the dough once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes.

Punch the dough down and place on a greased 16" pizza pan. Pat dough into a 16" circle and brush with salad dressing using a baking brush or the back of a spoon.

Thoroughly combine the seasonings and sprinkle on the top of the dough. Sprinkle the top with the cheeses after applying the seasonings.

For a fluffier cheese bread, allow the bread to rest for about 15 minutes. If you're in a hurry, just skip this rise. The bread will rise while it bakes, too.

Pre-heat the oven to 450*F and bake for 11-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Slice into desired amount and sizes of slices, serve warm.

Little Caesar's Style

Little Caesars makes their own dough and the bread is baked in a square pan. They let it rise at room temperature, top it with mozzarella cheese, and run it through the oven. When it is finished baking, it is coated with butter, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Italian salad dressing is not used in the stores to make the bread, but you can purchase the seasoning packets from them for a small fee.
