Mahi mahi and Jim

Mahi Mahi

This is a mahi mahi, which is probably more well-known as a dolphin or dorado to most folks.  It is a brightly colored fish when alive, but the color fades quickly after death, as it does in many fish.  It is an excellent tasting fish.  Not too long ago, I was shopping at a Supercenter and a lady was looking at a package of meat that said "Mahi Mahi" on it.  Being from Missouri, she didn't have a clue as to what kind of fish that was.  I politely told her it was really "dolphin", whereupon she quickly threw down the package.  It was quite funny, and, yes, I did explain.
