Joseph C. Morris, great great grandfather of Sarah Hudson Pierce, born in Monmouth County, New Jersey in 1811. He was the husband of Lydia Hulse, also of Monmouth County, New Jersey. They were longtime residents of Linn County, Iowa.
He is the father of W.H. Morris.
