LYNLEY LUTCHMEDIAL By Anthony Dyer
 District / Zonal Scout Commissioner
Lynley Lutchmedial joined the 1st. Notre Dame Sea Scouts in 1972. He rose through the ranks to Assistant Scout Leader (1979), Scout LEader (1985), and Group Scout Leader in 1987, a position he held for seven years.
The National Scout Association recognised Lynley's leadership qualites and in 1994, he was appointed San Fernando District Commissioner. This allowed him to give directions to a wider span of scouting in San Fernando. In 1999, he was appointed Zonal Commisioner heading the South / Central Zone of Scouting districts.
As District and Zonal Commisioner, Lynley has built on the high standards set by the previous Commisioners to attain a level that is the envy of other districts and zones. These include, inter alia:
* Publishing of Scout Scope, a monthly / quarterly scout newsletter.
* Researching and producing the magarzine "The History of Scouting in San Fernando 1917 - 1998", launched on the 50th Anniversary of the San Fernando District Scout Council.
* The creation of a web page with information on San Fernando Scouting (www.sanfernandoscouts.org)
The organization of bi-annual District / Zonal Camps to Jamboree standards.
Lynley is also keen on World Scout Jamborees, having attended all five (5) since 1983.
1983 - Cananda
1988 - Australia
1991- South Korea
1995 - Holland
1999 - Chile
He considers himself a sportman, never missing (once in Trinidad) the traditional Wednesday evening "small goal" at San Fernando Boys R.C. Court.
