Help, I'm a Fish!
Denmark, 2000
[Stefan Fjeldmark & Michael Hegner]
Alan Rickman, Terry Jones, Teryl Rothery, Paprika Steen, Michael Dobson (voices)
Animation / Comedy / Family
Fly, Charles and Stella accidentally become creatures of the sea while on a fishing trip and find themselves in a whole lot of trouble. This film is full of fantasies that all children can relate to: discovering secret places, differentiating between good and evil, saving and helping each other and obviously making everything in the world right again.

Help Im a fish takes the children to an exciting and scary sea world, where they have to use their thinking but lack the skills to find the antidote to make themselves human again. A friendship also starts developing between the popular and all American Fly and his boffin cousin Charles. Meanwhile a powerful fish (Rickman) has found the antidote

The sea world is extremely visual and incredibly realistic. There are some good silences so the audience can appreciate this different world. The children have to learn about the different fish and their weapons which parents may find educational.

This is not a film for adults, the tale is far too simple and only children who love the Disney-esque outcome of learning to distinguish between good and evil will enjoy this.
