Heartbreakers
USA, 2001
[David Mirkin]
Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jason Lee, Gene Hackman
Romance / Comedy
A film about, well, breaking hearts really. Kinda obvious from the title but I think it needed saying. It also made me have something to write about in the first paragraph!

Starring Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Sigourney Weaver as a mother-daughter combination who go around in varying desguises seducing men to get money. Sounds fair enough I guess! Heartbreakers is a very watchable film, although not the best showing you'll ever see.

Page wants to set up business on her own, saying that she doesn't need her mother's help anymore. Max is worried however because she doesn't want her daughter to end up falling in love to then be hurt (I know us men are an awful species but come on...) Anyway, Page decides that she wants to go behind her mothers back and do a bit of seduction work by herself. Pretty understandable because the mother had ear-marked a very wealthy old man, very close to popping his clogs, as her next target - the only problem was that he was the most repulsive man ever; "to prevent you falling in love" was the excuse! Max had a point though because it looks like Page is falling in love with her target... well actually I know whether she did or not, but why would I want to spoil it for you... oh go on then, yeah she falls in love with him! Hahahaha!

On the whole, like I said earlier,
Heartbreakers is a good film to watch so long as you don't scrutinise the plot too deeply! I very much enjoyed it and, well, Jennifer Love-Hewitt was pretty nice and seductive throughout the film. Not that it was my reason for watching it of course.
