Three unemployed New York university parapsychologists (Murray, Aykroyd and Ramis) go into business as eliminators and exterminators of the supernatural, armed with unlicensed nuclear accelerated weaponry (wise!) they blast their way out of bankruptcy as the spook count is mysteriously on the rise in the city, which leads to a breathtaking finale which could destroy the world (original!).
Come on! You must have seen this one, this movie will be immortalised in Hollywood�s Hall of Fame (if there is one and if there is any justice). You�d be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable family rated film as good as this! It�s just impossible not to love the damn thing! The stellar cast is woven together with the finest thread from the �bobbin of casting, you can�t get enough of Murray ad-libbing his way from start to finish. The special effects (some �Harryhausen-esque�) look dated now, but just work superbly for the movie.
Please don�t ruin it and re-do the special effects (a-la the Star Wars trilogy)! This film is all about nostalgia, and when movies had a magical atmosphere and character about them, something you can�t repeat no matter how much CGI is in it. Enjoy this movie for what it is, and if you want more, the special edition VHS and DVD are superb! Sheer class! |
