The older readers amongst you will remember the Child's Play series of films which saw a loveable talking doll possessed by Chucky, the evil spirit of a dead axe murderer. The films brought about new levels of creepiness and sick horror and now they have their fourth installment.

Bride of Chucky sees the doll 'responsible' for all of the murders of the previous films stolen from Police storage by the last known girlfriend of Chucky before he died. She uses an interesting 'Voodoo for Idiot's' book to return his spirit to the doll in the hope of rekindling their former love.  Upon his arrival, she realises that he is still the same heartless man he always was and locks him up in her caravan. His disagreement with this leads him to escape and kill his oh so beloved ex and return the favour by reincarnating her spirit into a female doll of his choice.

The couple then set off on an adventure to recover an amulet from Chucky's grave which will give them the power to take over human bodies once again. Unfortunately, their inability to leave anyone alive frames the two teenage runaways who are transporting them, and quickly alerts the police to their trail.

This movie is nothing short of hilarious and the scare factor is limited to a couple of slightly gory scenes here and there. Topped off by the love making scene in front of a flickering fire, in which Chucky proclaims "Everything appears to be in working order", we see the two dolls bumpily moving about on a bed of broken glass. Eat your heart out Barbie and Ken!
