The Blues Brothers
USA, 1980
[John Landis]
Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, James Brown, Ray Charles
Musical / Comedy

Known almost exclusively for it's intense car chases (once holding the record for the number of police cars trashed) and singalong blues medleys, The Blues Brothers frankly doesn't need to be known for anything else. The plot is really of no concern whatsoever as Dan Aykroyd's Elwood and James Belushi's Joliet Jake jump from cop-dodging car chases to mall smashing and then on to an ex-girlfriend's murderous wrath without ever really losing their trademark cool.

I had no idea what
The Blues Brothers was about before and now I know that it's not at all important. Just sit back and watch as the smashes mount, Belushi's waist grows and everyone (including cops, rednecks, Nazi's, firemen and the whole US army) chase them from Chicago to Wisconsin and back again. It's fun.
