True Ali G fans, like myself, must prepare to be heavily disappointed with this film, just as I was. I remember the days of The 11 o Clock Show, when me main man Gs away-from-the-audience interviews with various high profile members of our government and society used to leave me writhing on the floor, unable to breathe with laughter, as he never failed to do with each interview. Sadly though, Ali G Indahouse is a load of crap.

The film features all the members of the West-Staines Massive we have heard Ali talk about; his mates Dave and Ricky, and of course, his Julie. Ali is the local bum, who has little better to do with his days than to race East-Side posse leader Assam B at 30mph through Eggham High Street in their gangsta-kit Renault 5s. Ali also runs regular workshops in gang culture at the John Nike Leisure Centre in Bracknell, and on being told that it is to close, he agrees to run for MP for Staines to help save it.

He realises he is being used by the government, and must unite with the East-Staines Massive in order to preserve his name with the people on the street. In the grand finale, Ali has to decide where his loyalties lie, with the government, or with his posse, and if you still really want to see it, I will not spoil the surprise, as this will be the only one left for you to discover. One mildly funny part had to be Ali doing door-to-door canvassing for his party, selling dope in actual fact with Dave and Ricky. When told to get lost by the shocked elderly home-owner, they have to decide whose turn it is to do a crap through the letterbox.

I left the cinema feeling that no real effort had gone into the film, and that Sacha Boren Cohen is desperate to hang on to the success of his character for as long as possible. The one saving grace is that the embarrassment is only about an hour and a half long, but the same amount of time and money could be better invested on renting
Ali G Innit recently released on DVD, which is hilarious.
