Action / Sci-Fi

Oh please, spare me. Another attempt by Arnold to wrestle back the now redundant action man crown? After he bested Satan last outing, how is he going to try and impress us this time? Well, most action stars have tried the old dual role trick, promising twice as much bang for your buck. So it could either be a time-travel plot or a long lost twin (no, wait everyone knows Danny DeVito got that honour long ago) or in the current climate of they grew tissue for transplants!? Next theyll be replacing my baby with a pigs kidney and I wont be able to tell the difference! cloning hysteria, we could have a manmade doppelganger. Which we do.

Now to lose the overly cynical tone and be frank this is Arnies best since
True Lies. It has a more solid than usual grounding in science and knows how to play to the big mans strengths, although there are still some unintentionally funny attempts at a sincere delivery. At times formulaic in the kidnap and fight scenes, there is still an urgency and depth to the sequence of events which keep things ticking along nicely. Even if the end could have been guessed after about 25 minutes, this is still as good a sci-fi as Total Recall despite the star losing much of his pulling power.
