As in the research activities they are organize in the research group such as Natural Product Chemistry; Bio-organic Chemistry, Synthetic and Chemical transformation, Toxicology and Environmental Chemistry, Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, and Catalyst and catalytic. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Department of Chemistry, provide education, training, and collaborative research programs in many areas of chemistry. In addition, the department also provide chemical analysis and technical services to the industries. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The education programs(D-3; S-1; S-2; & S-3): | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Undergraduate Program in Chemistry (S-1): | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Approximately 50 ~ 60 students enrolled each year. To obtain the S-1 degree the student has to complete at least 144 credit unit, including research project. This program normally could be completed between 3,5 to 4,5 years. The new class begin at the end of August while the selection process follows the State University Entrance Examination System (UMPTN), which is usually conducted in June/July. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Diploma Program in Applied Chemistry (D-3): | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Approximately 50 ~ 60 students enrolled each year. In this program the student has to complete at least 110 credit unit, including short training project in relevance industry. This program normally could be completed in 3 years. The new class begin at the early of September while the selection process follows the University Entrance Examination System for The Diploma Programs, which is usually conducted in July. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Postgraduate Program in Chemistry (S-2 and S-3): | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Approximately 20 ~ 30 students enrolled for master program each year. In this program the student has to complete 40 credit unit, including thesis research project, which is normally could be completed in two years. Recently, the Department also offers for a doctorate degree, which is expected 4 students enrolled each year. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There are several scholarships scheme for the state employee which can be applied. The new class begin in the early of September while the selection process conducted in February and July, follows the University Entrance Examination System for The Postgraduate Study. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The training programs: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Training in Instrumental Analytical Chemistry: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In this programs the trainee will be trained to obtain comprehensive knowledge in basic concept, good technical skill & problem solving capabilities of analytical chemistry and its instrumentation. The area of training including Spectrometry (UV-Vis, Fluorescence, FTIR, NMR, and Atomic Spectrometry); Chromatography (GC and HPLC)) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The content of the training may be negotiated so it may meet exactly what is needed by the trainee or the company who sent them. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Training in the Specific Area of Chemistry for the New Appointed Junior Lecture or Senior High School Teacher: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The subject of the training is negotiable in the following subject areas: General Chemistry; Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. In this program, we will help you in mastering the basic concept and exposed you with the latest development of the relevance subject areas. We believe through this program you will achieve high confidence and crop an excellent performance in your job. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Collaborative Research: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The department offers collaborative research to industries who willing to develop their process and or product, explore science and technology for the diversification and development of process or product. Researchareincluded Research in Natural Product Chemistry; Bio-transformation of Biological Active Compounds; Behavior of Coordination Complex Compounds and Its utilization; Metal-Oxide Catalysis Process for Environmental Protection (NOx; SOx ; Organo-chlorine; and other toxic chemical elimination); and Environmental Behavior, Toxicology and Food Health | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Chemical Analysis and Technical Services: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The servicesare included Analysis of Metals and Heavy Metals in water, blood, soil and food (AAS); Analysis of Organic Compounds Composition (GC; HPLC; FTIR); and Others. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
