1. What is Plain Text Editor?
You miss a text editor able to open, edit and save plain text files? You want special features such as foreground and background colors? Text wrapping and unwrapping? Macintosh, Windows and Unix ends of lines? Spelling checking? Find and replace? Regular expressions? Unlimited number of undo?

Plain Text Editor allows you to edit plain text files with many options.
- It works with any kind of plain text files (text, source code, HTML, ...).
- You can automatically concatenate documents by dropping them on the same window.
- You can open recently opened files.
- You can scroll forward and backward through all opened windows.
- You can reload files from disk at any time.
- It has an unlimited number of undo.
- You can find and replace text, even with regular expressions.
- You can select the default font and default font size of the editor.
- You can select the default foreground color and default background color of the editor.

2. How to register?
As long as you use it unregistered this software package works normaly, but it has a time limit and annoying windows (About window, Registration window, Popup windows, ...).
To remove all of them you just have to register at AlphaOmega Software's website.

3. How to install it?
No particular installation is required. When you download the .sit package, it should unstuff automatically. If it does not, you can double click on it or use Stuffit Expander to unstuff it.
Then you just have to double click on the application to launch it.

4. How to uninstall it?
There should be no reason to do this. ;-)
However, if really needed, you just have to throw it into the trash, that's all.

5. How to use it?
The "File/Next window" menu:
It allows you to scroll to the next window.

The "File/Previous window" menu:
It allows you to scroll to the previous window.

The "File/Save and view with default application" menu:
It allows you to save and open the document with its default application, such as your web browser for an HTML file for example.

The "File/Reload from disk" menu:
It allows you to reload the current document from disk. All the changes you've made since you saved the document for the last time or since you opened it will be discarded.

The "Edit/Find and replace..." menu:
It allows you to find and replace text.

The "Edit/Regular expressions..." menu:
It allows you to find and replace text with regular expressions.
It is much more powerful than the simple find and replace function. It allows to search for complex expressions thanks to pattern matching and to replace them with other expressions thanks to pattern matching too, which can depend on the result of the search...

The "Edit/Toggle wrapping" menu:
It allows you to switch between wrapped text and unwrapped text in the current window.

The "Edit/Ends of lines" menu:
It allows you to swap between Macintosh, Windows and Unix ends of lines.

The "Edit/Type and creator" menu:
It allows you to change the type and the creator of the document.

The "Edit/Check spelling..." menu:
It allows you to perform spelling checking in several languages.
You can ask us if you want us to add your own language to the available languages for spelling checking.

The "Color" menu:
It allows you to select the foreground color and background color of the editor.
