In this section, I hope to dispel the myth that there's nothing to do in inaka (country-bumpkin) Japan. To be sure, if it's an exciting, fast-paced nightlife you're after, Toyooka isn't your place. Not that Toyooka is necessarily boring, but I usually go down to Osaka or Kobe once or twice a month, to get my dose of clubbing and excitement. Ultimately, however, it's always been nice to return to the relaxed, laid-back pace of Toyooka.
