It started out realy as an idea for something to do to be a part of Ren. Fairs. Runes were used widely in the European area by several different cultures, as was Leather carving and crafting. The trick was deciding what Runes to use and weather or not to paint the Leather.

Runes are ancient symbols that when carved into various stones and leather, then cast in various patterns(Sort of like Tarrot cards), would decern the future. Each Rune having it's own meaning could also be carved into armor or some other personal items to give its wearer the power or that Rune.
"Horic Runes" were used mainly in Germany and the surrounding area. I came to find that they were found by the Gypsies, when they migrated there, who then used them as a means to make money by doing readings of the locals. The Gypsies only started using the runes because they were more excepted by the local culture.
"Lairdom Runes" were used in Sweeden and the surrounding area. These Runes date back even further than the Horic Runes and are said to have even more power. Unfortunately, these Runes predate the Renaissance. So that's why I decided that I had better use the Horic Runes at the Fairs so that I could stay "period".

Leather Carving started in the early 1400's in England as a way to lable ones leather goods as well as to beautify Saddles. Generally, basic patterns and flowers were carved into the leather. I have mastered Leather crafting and carving to the point that anything on paper I can put onto Leather! So, it only made sence to combine the two for a great idea to have at the fair.
So that's it, I'm glad you decided to learn about us. Please check out our stuff.
