In the name of God Amen, I, Adam Wise of Hardin County do make this my la st will and Testament as follows: first I recommend my soul to God who ga ve it, trusting that He will deal with me as best suits His compassion a nd mercy - And as to what estate I am possessed of, I dispose of it as fol lows: First, I give to my son Elisha Wise, on bed and furniture and 't is my wish and desire that my wife, Susanna Wise should have a reasonab le (support) on the place during her life.
Second, I give to my two sone, Willis Wise and Gabriel Wise, all my esta te after what is taken out shall hereafter be mentioned.
Third, there is 10 acres of land where Thomas H. Wise now lives which w as laid out for the Tan Yard which is laid off to Henry Wise and Thom as H. Wise which was given to them to fix the Tan Yard on which the esta te has no claim.
Fourth, I give to Mary Melvina French a good saddle and a bed and furnitur e, to be given to her, when she arrives at the age of 16 years, by my Exec utors.
Fifth, Also that my sons, Willis Wise and Gabriel Wise shall find a home a nd a reasonable support; for my son Ignatius Wise during his life; as we ll as a home and support for my wife, Susanna Wise during her life - th en all the balance of my whole estate to my sons Willis Wise and Gabriel W ise.
Sixth, I give to son Thomas H. Wise, one dollar and to my daughter, Elezab eth French, one dollar and to my daughter Matilda Brewer, wife of John Bre wer, one dollar. And to my son Henry Wise, one dollar.
I appoint my sons, Willis Wise and Gabriel Wise, Executors to this my la st Will and Testament.

Richard Wise b. 1647 in Gilsdon, Cornwall, England was the son of Willi am Wise b. 1610 in England. Richard was transported by ship in 1681 to Mar yland. He lived in St. Mary's County, Md. and married Diannah Dansey abo ut 1682 to 1684. Will of Richard Wise; St. Mary's Will Abstracts, 1648-17 44, T-Z Page. . Richard Wise, St. Mary's Co., 10th Mar 1728-9; d. 16Jan173 2. To sons William, Adam and Matthew-personal residue of the estate divid ed equally among children. Son Matthew to care of his bro. Richard Wise b. 1647 may have been married in England and had a son nam ed Henry. No further info. on this marriage or son. He was transport ed in 1681 and may not have married until 1690s. Originally thoug ht to be the Richard Wise of Launceston, Cornwall, Eng., but he was not ma rried.

There is a gap between the birth dates of his first and second child. T he 1st is William b. 1684 and the next child is Matthew b. 1693. Possib ly William b. 1684 was born in England and to a first wife. This is on ly a possibility and not proven. It is believed that his wife, Diannah Dan sey married him in St. Mary's Co., Md. No marrige records have been fou nd and the marriage may not have taken place until the early 1690's, sin ce his other children were born from 1693-1712.
