Upney Royal Oak FC is in its first year of competition after being established in the Summer of 2001. The team draws together players predominantly from the Barking and Dagenham area, regular patrons of the Royal Oak public house from which the team takes its name. The team is also pleased to announce that the Royal Oak public house has agreed to sponsor the team this season - monies from which have purchased the new team kit and other equipment. The age of the squad ranges between 17 and 24. Despite the teams young age, it contains a wealth of experience - all of the players having played for teams previously, and a number of members having competed at district and county level. The teams main aim this season therefore is to consolidate itself in the league, establish team spirit within the squad and hopefully enjoy a fair degree of success. |
