| what is massage? The rubbing and kneading of tissues for therapeutic purposes. In horses, therapeutic massage refers to the deep-finger approach, which puts pressure on muscle groups to ease spasms and strains, improve circulation and increase range of motion. In some cases, relaxation massage, with its more superficial strokes, is used as a soothing treatment for competition horses after rigorous work. | ||||||||||
