The (broken) wheel barrow was rescued from the dump some months earlier and fixed ready to be planted with a garden it in. It had obviously been used for this once before. While it was sitting outside the door waiting for Brenda to put her plants in, I came up with the idea of adding a railway for the Christchruch Garden Railway Society's exhibit.
The Tram is an LGB Gnomy San Fransisco cable car (originally green) which was a kids push-and-go Toy. The wheels and friction motor were removed from the bottom and a N gauge mechanism fitted. The N gauge track is mounted on a custom wood oval so it can be lifted on and off the wheel barrow as required.
This was a one-off exhibit. I have another idea for 2003.....
