Low End of Nowhere should have stayed there. Streeter, first name unknown, is a bounty hunter/private eye hired by the lover of a late, and unlamented, drug dealer to find where he hid his emergency stash of money. Toss in a crooked lawyer, a crooked cop and two psychopathic thugs who are also looking for the money and the chase is on!
Disappointing, dull and dumb. Alliteration to indicate this book gets and deserves a D. None of the characters, including Streeter, are interesting or sympathetic while the story is unnecessarily convoluted and completely pointless. In some places Low End of Nowhere seemed like a poor mans Robert Parker and in other a poor mans Andrew Vachss, but its always poverty stricken in terms of writing talent and characterization. Had I known how bad this was going to be I wouldnt even have checked it out of the library; let alone buy it. Give it a pass.
