| 24 Nov RMC 7 Ryerson 3 stats The Paladins received a much needed tonic to cure their woes as they hosted the last place Ryerson Rams on Friday night at Constantine Arena. The Paladins were able to snap their 5 game losing streak with a 7-3 win over the Rams. After a slow start to the game in which RMC was actually out shot 14-10 where they managed to escape tied at one, the Paladins broke it open in the second period outshoting the Rams 21-9 and taking a 4-1 lead. Ryerson opened the scoring at the ten minute mark and held the lead until Nick Cregan (Ottawa,ON/Cumberland Grads) tied the game at 17:54. Paul Bradley (Calgary,AB/Canmore Eagles) and Luke Pierce (Merritt,BC/Vernon Vipers) assisted on the goals. In the second Greg McDonald (Ottawa,On/South Ottawa) made it 2-1 at 2:22. Roman Srutek (Kanata,ON/Kanata Stallions) made it 3-1 with an assist from David Thebault (Sydney,NS/Riverview HS). Thebault then made it 4-1 with just over two minutes remaining. In the third the teams traded goals. Josh Fudge (Nepean,ON/Nepean Raiders) notched a power play goal at 1:03. Ryerson answered back with a power play goal of their own before Pierce restored the 4 goal lead at 13:01 on a power play. The teams then traded goals in the last minute with Paul Bradley closing out the scoring to make it 7-3 with 3 seconds left. Offensively Luke Pierce and Paul Bradley led the Paladins each notchin 1G and 2A for 3 points, while 5 other Paladins chipped in for two points each. Overall RMC out shot Ryerson 42-32. Adam Briggs (Wallace,NS/Charloettetown Abbies) got the win for RMC stopping 29 shots and improving his record to 3-4. |
