Waterloo 7 RMC 3 stats The Paladins dropped their third game in a row on Remembrance Day with a 7-3 loss to the Waterloo Warriors. The first period say Windsor jump out to a 2-0 lead with goals at 5:02 and 12:49 before Tyler Spice (Chilliwack,BC/Chilliwack Chiefs) closed the gap to 2-1 with 32 seconds to go in the period. In the second Paul Bradley (Calgary, AB/Canmore Eagles) knotted the game up at 2 with a marker at 4:18. Assisting on the goal was Roman Srutek (Kanata,ON/Kanata Stallions) and goalie Matt Hartney (Burnaby,BC/University of Saskatchewan). The tie was short lived however as Waterloo blew open the game with four goals in the second to take a 6-2 lead into the final frame. In the third Bradley notched his second of the game and seventh of the season at 5:33 to make it 6-3 before the Warriors closed out the scoring with a power play marker at 11:32. Hartney got his first start of the season and took the loss. He stoped 26 of 33 shots he faced while RMC fired 39 shots against the Warriors net. Srutek led the Paladins offensively with 3A. RMC went 0-7 on the power play including a couple of 1 minute 2 man advantages while they killed 6 of 7 Warriors power plays. Up next for the Paladins is a double header against the Windsor Lancers (1-8, 1-11 overall) in Windsor. The Lancers currently hold down last place in the OUA Far West Divison. The Lancers are coming of 7-2 and 4-3 losses against the U of T Varsity Blues. Game times on Friday and Saturday are 7:05 pm. In other OUA Mid East action, the Division leading U of T extended their lead with back to back wins against Windsor. With a 7-3 record they sit atop the division with 14 points, 8 up on the second place Queens Golden Gaels. The Gaels took over sole possession of second courtesy of a 1-1 tie with the Western Mustangs. Ryerson remains 3 points back of RMC after identical 8-3 losses against the Lakehead Thunderwolves. 10 Nov Western 6 RMC 0 stats The Paladins were blanked 6-0 at home on Friday night stretching their losing skid to 2 games. In those two games RMC has been out scored 13-1. The Mustangs opened the scoring with the eventual game winner in the first as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead. The Mustangs then added an additional 2 goals in the middle frame before rounding out the scoring with 3 more in the third. Special teams were the down fall of RMC tonight as they allowed the Mustangs to score 4 power play goals and a short handed marker. Blair Robertson (Outlook,Sk/Quesnell Millionaires) took the loss for the Paladins stopping 27 of 34 shots he faced. With the loss RMC�s record moves to 2-6-1 however they still remain tied for second in the OUA Mid East with Queens who lost 8-5 to the Waterloo Warriors. RMC looks to bounce back as they face off against Waterloo at 7:30 pm on 11 Nov. 4 Nov Ottawa 7 RMC 1 stats b After an impressive 1-1 draw against the McGill Redmen on Friday night, RMC came out flat against the last place Ottawa Gee Gee Saturday in Ottawa and were blown out 7-1. The Gee Gees jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period and that was all they needed as they cruised the rest of the way. The lone goal scorer for RMC was David Thebault (Sydney, NS/Riverview HS). Ottawa grabbed the lead at 2:36 of the opening frame and then extended the lead to 3-0 with two power play markers before the 10 minute mark. Thebault got RMC on the board at 15:08 of the period. In the second Ottawa extended their lead to 4-1 at 14:15 of the middle frame. They then proceeded to continue the scoring with a power play marker 43 seconds into the third and then with two more goals in the last 1:04 of the game. Adam Briggs (Wallace,NS/Charlottetown Abbies) took the loss for RMC stopping 28 of the 35 shots he faced. Up next for RMC are OUA Far West Opponents Western and Waterloo. The Paladins host the Western Mustangs (3-4,5-6 overall)on Friday 10 Nov with a 7:30 start. The Mustangs are having a disappointing year by Western standards and will look to improve their record during their Kingston swing. The Mustangs are coming off a 3-2 against York and a game against the Brock Badgers (score not available at press time). The Waterloo Warriors (5-2,7-4 overall) come into Constantine on Sat 11 Nov at 7:30. The Warriors are sitting in first place in the OUA Far West. They are coming off a 3-1 win over the Brock Badgers and a 2-2 tie against the York Lions |
