RMC 4 Concordia 4 stats The Paladins let a point slip away on Friday night as they surrendered a 2 goal lead in the third period in a 4-4 tie with the Concordia Stingers at home. RMC came out fast in the first period out shooting Concordia 17-12 in the frame. Greg McDonald (Ottawa, On/South Ottawa) got the Paladins on the board at 8:49 of the first. Tyler McTavish (London, On/St Thomas Stars) made it 2-0 at 18:43. In the second RMC had a bit of a breakdown as they allowed Concordia back into the game with 2 goals in under a minute. Concordia scored at 6:25 and 7:17 to tie the game at two. The teams remained tied until 16:21, when Adam Purdy (Stittsville, On/Kanata Stallions) scored just at the end of a RMC power play to make it 3-2 going into the second intermission. In the third RMC restored their two goal lead when Paul Bradley (Calgary, AB/Canmore Eagles) notched a power play marker at the 2:47 mark. Concordia cut the lead to 4-3 at11:49 of the period and then tied it at 17:19. In the overtime neither team could score as Concordia out shot RMC 6-3 in the extra frame. For the game RMC was out shot 42-39, while they went 1 for 3 on the power play and killed all four short handed situations. Leading RMC were Paul Bradley and Adam Purdy each with 1G and 1A. With the tie, RMC is now 4-6-4 for 12 points and move four points clear of Queens who lost 5-2 to UQTR on Friday night. 25 Nov Waterloo 2 RMC 1 stats In a tight checking game dominated by special teams the RMC Paladins dropped a 2-1 decision on the road to the Waterloo Warriors. The first period saw the Warriors establish a 1-0 lead with a power play goal at 4:22. In the second the Warriors extended the lead with another power play goal at 9:43. After getting the 2-goal cushion Waterloo sat back in a defensive mode and smothered any RMC offensive generation. In the third the Paladins had an excellent chance to close the gap with a five minute man advantage, including 2 minutes of 5 on 3, but they could not find the back of the net. It wasn�t until 19:03 of the period when Brent Maurice (Almyer, PQ/Shawville Pontiacs) broke the shut out bid. The Paladins were unfortunate not to get any bounces in a game that they could have won if not for some solid net minding by the Warriors. The Paladins out shot Waterloo 28-22 on the night. The Paladin power play went a sub-par 1 for 12 with the man advantage while RMC killed 6 of 8 power plays. The loss leaves RMC with a 4-6-3 record for 11 points and currently in first in the OUA Mid East Division, 3 points up on Queens. The Gaels have 2 games in hand on RMC and play Waterloo tomorrow. In other OUA Mid East action, Windsor thumped Ryerson 12-2, while Lakehead beat Toronto 6-4. Both Toronto and Ryerson only have 1 point each on the season. 24 Nov Western 6 RMC 4 stats Western Press Release The RMC Paladins were defeated by the Western Mustangs 6-4 on Thursday night to fall below .500 for the first time this season. After the long Thursday road trip the Paladins came out flat against the powerful Mustangs as they fell behind 2-0 in the first after being out shot 17-8. Western got a power play marker at 7:43 and then opened up a 2 goal lead with another at 13:07. Western came out flying in the second as they stretched the lead to 4-0 with two goals in a minute and a half. They first netted a second power play goal at the 2 minute mark and then made it 4-0 at 3:23. The Paladins fought back thanks to a couple of power play goals as Paul Bradley (Calgary, AB/Canmore Eagles) scored at 4:05 and then Brent Maurice (Alymer, PQ/Shawville Pointiacs) closed the gap to 2 with a power play goal at 10:36. Western closed out the period with the eventual game winner again on the power play at 12:45 to take a 5-2 lead to the dressing room despite being out shot 15-8 in the period. RMC cut the lead to 2 again when Roman Srutrek (Kanata, On/Kanata Stallions) scored at 10:36 of the frame. However Western put the game away with their fourth power play goal at 16:39 on a two-man advantage. Matt Millberry (Kingston, NS/Brockville Braves) rounded out the scoring at 14:49 of the third to make it 6-4. The Paladins had several opportunities but could not get their power play going consistently. RMC had four two man advantages but could only net goal. Overall the power play went 2 for 10 while they killed off 6 of 10 penalties. On the night RMC was outshot 42-32. Offensively Bradley and Srutek, who each had 1G and 1A, led RMC. |
