Concordia 8 RMC 4 stats Concordia article The Paladins dropped their first game of the second half on Friday night 8-4 against the Concordia Stingers after blowing a 3-0 lead. RMC started off strong as Head Coach Kelly Nobes wanted his scribes to as they jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead with a power play goal from Tyler Middlebrook less than two minutes into the first period. Middlebrook then extended the lead to 2-0 with a power play goal at the 15-minute mark. RMC got some solid goaltending from Blair Roberston as Concordia out shot the Paladins 12-10 in the first. RMC extended their lead to 3-0 early in the second period when Louis Charland notched a power play goal at the 40-second mark. Concordia came back to take the lead in the game with 4 goals in 6:30, 3 power play goals and a shorthanded tally. RMC tied the game before the end of the second when Brent Maurice fired a point shot past the Concordia goalie at 16:34 . In the third Concordia took the play to the Paladins as they scored the game winner just 33 seconds into the period and then added 3 additional goals. In a penalty filled game RMC went 3 for 7 on the power play allowing a shorthanded goal while Concordia went 4 for 16 including several 5 on 3 man advantages where they managed to score twice. The game also featured a line brawl with just a minute left as tempers flared after a Concordia player cross-checked an RMC player and the refs ended the game with 59 seconds on the clock to avoid any further dust up from happening. RMC was out shot 34-19 in the game. Tyler Middlebrook led RMC with 2 goals and 2 assists, Louis Charland had a goal and 3 assist and Brent Maurice chipped in with a goal and 2 assists. 4 Dec UQTR 7 RMC 1 stats RMC ended the first half of the OUA regular season on a disappointing note losing their sixth straight game and missing an opportunity to move back into first place in the OUA Mid East. RMC dropped a 7-1 decision to the UQTR Patriotes on Saturday afternoon. RMC started off the game strong and looked to have battle the demons from the last couple of weekends. In a side open end to end period RMC jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Jesse Bruni�s first goal of the season. It was a power play goal with an assist from Tyler McTavish. RMC outshot UQTR in the first 15-14. The second period saw the home team take advantage of some favourable referring in the game as they notched 4 power play goals. The key turning point in the game came with the game tied 1-1 and RMC up two men. RMC could not score on the 2 man advantage and shortly after UQTR was awarded a 1:30 minute 5 on 3 where they scored the game winning goal. The Paladins could not buy a bounce as they continued to pressure UQTR but could not put a puck past All Star goalie Danny D�Aillaire. RMC outshot UQTR 20-17 in the second. In the third UQTR continued to dominate the game on the score sheet scoring their only even strength goal 11 seconds into the period and then added 2 more power play goals. RMC outshot UQTR 48-43 but faced a potent power play and a stingy goaltender. UQTR was 6 for 9 on the power play while RMC went 1 for 9. 28 Nov Waterloo 9 RMC 1 stats Waterloo Story RMC continued on their losing streak getting soundly beat 9-1 on Sunday afternoon in Waterloo against the Waterloo Warriors. After a close game Saturday, RMC came out flat on Sunday afternoon and Waterloo took early advantage of that opportunity. Waterloo opened the scoring 2 minutes into the first to take a 1-0 lead and then they added to that with two goals in just over a minute at the 18:00 minute mark of the first to go into the dressing room up 3-0. Waterloo dominated the first out shooting RMC 16-4. The second period saw RMC come out stronger but could not get any bounces as Waterloo increased their lead to 4-0 3:15 into the second and then the route was on. In a period where both teams had 13 shots on net Waterloo managed to pad their lead to 8-1 after 40 minutes. In that span Waterloo managed 3 goals in a 49 second span. The lone goal for RMC was scored by Louis Charland at 18:38 of the second. The third period saw a tighter play as RMC was outshot 8-6 in a fast pace clean period. Overall RMC was outshot 37-24 in the game as they went 0-4 on the power play while Waterloo scored 3 power play goals in 5 chances. |
