CONSTANTINE ARENA
Constantine Arena was built in 1960 during a period of rapid expansion of the college. Prior to the construcion of Constantine Arena, all hockey games were played outdoors on natural ice on Navy Bay and later on an outdoor rink where Massey Libary is now located.  The arena is named after 621 MGen C.F. Conastantine, CB, DSO the 11th Commandant of RMC who in additon to his distinguished service career was an outstanding hockey player at RMC and noted Canadian author.

Designed as a multi-use arena, the rink became home of the RMC Redmen upon joining the CIAU in 1983.  A sepcially designed dressing room was built for the Redmen in addition to the 4 rooms available at the rink.  The dressing room was built with 26 playerstalls, a washroom/shower area and a coaches office.

In addition to serving as home of the Redmen, the rink is used for PT classes, the RMC broomball team, Intermural sports, CFB Kingston Hockey and Broomball teams, the Fort Henery Heights Minor Hockey Assiocation and the Fort Henry Heights Figure Skating Club.

Due to the increased demand for ice time and facilities the Arena underwent a major revovation in 1998.  The existing 4 dressing rooms were expanded and improved and the Redmen dressing room was basically rebuilt.

The Redmen room has 26 spacious stalls, shower/washroom facitities, a larger coaches office, an equipment room, a small weight room, a physio thereapist room and a location for lanundry machines.  In additon new trophy cases were built to display the achievement of past team members.

In addition to those improvements there are sponsor plaques above the stalls.  Redmen alumni can donate to the Red and White program to have a plaque with their name and number adorne a stall.  There are approximately 7 plaques currently up in the dressing room.

Hopefully soon I will have pictures availble of the dressing room on this page.
