RMC Releases Exhibition Schedule
The RMC Paladins have released part of their 2006-07 Varsity Hockey Exhibition Schedule. Their first game will be on Wednesday 27 September against cross-town rivals the Queens Golden Gaels in game one of a back to back exhibition schedule. This year marks the second in the row that RMC will face a Queens team with a rookie Head Coach. Last year it was former NHLer Kirk Muller and this year it is Brett Gibson who took over when Muller stepped down to take an assistant coaching job with the Montreal Canadians. Last year RMC posted a 1-2-1 record against the Golden Gaels including a 4-3 loss in the Carr-Harris cup. The two teams will play their second game on Saturday 20 September at 1930 at Constantine Arena. The second game will be a feature event of the RMC ex-cadet weekend. The Paladins then head out to the Maritimes for a couple of Thanksgiving weekend bouts. First up will be AUS semi-finalist St Mary�s Huskies on Thursday October 5th at the St Mary�s Campus. Last season the Huskies finished the season ranked 8th in the nation with a 16-9-3 record. For the second game of the weekend the Paladins will cross the Northumberland Strait to take on the UPEI Panthers at 1900 hrs on the UPEI campus. The Panthers had an 8-20-0 record in the AUS last year just missing the playoffs.
The Paladins return home from Thanksgiving and prepare for their first game of the regular season when they host coach Hulton�s Alma matter the York Lions at 1930hrs on 13 October at Constantine Arena. |
