HOW TO MAKE FINAL FANTASY X-2 THIEF MODE DAGGERS
BY- Tin (e-mail AnimaeAriesGirl about tutorial?)

Material Needed:
*3 pieces of Sturdy Foam Board Sized 20 x 30 (white or red & orange)

*Shapes:
1 Large Circle Shape (Large plate will do, approximately 10.5 in.)
1 Small Circle Shape (Small plate will do, approximately 8 in.)
1 Smaller Circle Shape (Small plate will do, approximately 4in to 5 in.)
Quarter (really optional)

*Paints (Optional if you bought colored foam board):
Rust Red acrylic paint
Pumpkin Orange acrylic paint
Black acrylic paint
Metall Silver acrylic paint
Paint brushes (different sizes are preferable)

*Other items:
Ruler (need it for some measuring and a few straight lines)
Scissors or Scalpel edge (if youre a kid, stick to the scissors or ask an adult if youre using a scalpel knife!)
Pencils and Erasers (Eraser is soooooooo key, haha)
Tacky Glue (or regular glue, tacky just holds better)
Stencil lettering (optional)

Procedures/Steps To Make:
Well, you can approach the steps in any order you want, but heres how I did it:

1) Take one foam board and trace out 4 circles spaced out well on the board. Use a Small Circle Shape (~8 inch size). This will make up the Orange Part of the daggers. Pinpoint the center of the circle.

2) Next, use the Smaller Circle Shape (~4-5in) to draw a circle inside the larger drawn circle from Step 1. Remember to use the center of the large circle to measure where the smaller circle goes. (For example, if you used an 8-inch circle for the large circle, your center will be 4 inches from the edge. If youre going to use a 4-inch circle, then make sure you measure 4 inches from the center to mark where the edges of the smaller circle goes). Okay, you should end up with a donut shape . Do this for all 4 circles on the board.

3) Draw 6 half-moon circles on the edges of the Large Circle. These will be those indents shown on Rikkus daggers. You can use a quarter to create the half-moons, or just go ahead and free hand it. Its up to you.

4) Cut out the middle circle and the indents. Paint the shape orange (just one side). The result should be a donut with grooves. It should look something like below:

5)  Repeat for the other 3 circles. Usually after painting the shapes, I tend to leave them overnight to dry, then perform touch ups.

6) Take the 2nd foam board and draw one circle at the bottom of the foam board using the Large Circle Shape (~10.5 in). Mark your center. This will form the red base of the dagger and the dagger blade itself.

7) Draw a smaller circle within the Large Circle using the Small Circle Shape (~8in). Then draw the smaller circle within the Small Circle using the Smaller Circle Shape (~4-5in.)

8) Draw in the hold handles within the Smaller Circle Shape. Remember NOT to cut the shape yet. You can paint the base now or wait until after cutting the whole dagger out. The base should look like something like this:

9)  Draw the dagger blade from the red base circle. You may want to use a curved edge or just free-hand it. I just found this random bendable tube and sketched out the dagger blade.

10) When youre done with all the drawing, repeat on the 3rd foam board to form the second dagger base.

11) All done drawing? Coolnow just cut the shape out. Remember to cut out areas for the handles.

12) Paint Time! Remember, you will now need to paint both sides of the dagger since you will be show casing both.

13) After the paint has dried take the orange circles from before and layer it on both sides of the base dagger.

14) Now, here comes your time for creativity. Use black paint or metallic silver paint to decorate your daggers. Add your own flair or signature to it. For my sisters, I used black paint to create a line down the blade to make it look like it had depth (errdunno if it worked tho). I also used silver metallic paint to paint in the name Rikku on one side and then used Japanese characters to spell Rikku on the other side. Im still considering about creating holders for the daggers, or at put some hooks on it so my sister can hang it from her belt loops or something.

Well, it was kinda messy since cutting up all that foam board left all this white stuff everywhere, but eh, a vacuum cleaner took care of that, hehe. But it was all worth it since my sister looks so kawaii! Yay! Have fun creating your weapons, minna-san! If you have any questions, let me knowArigato! Ja ne!

<Webmistress Christal aka Tal Speaking!> Well guyz this is how my sister's  project turned out. She worked hella hard and she gave me this amazing write-up above. I finally worked found a way to get my big sis's patterns up. YAY!
