BRRL 005 BOOMHAUER: Lies About Women 7" EP (vinyl only!)
RELEASE DATE: September 9, 2002

Boomhauer's debut 7" Gotta Hear The Music on Rhythm Barrel Records was a huge indie rock success in Finland. The 6-song, now long gone and sold-out EP took the band on a rollercoaster ride of heavy touring, summer festivals, some impressive press and a lot of enthusiastic people raving about this new band that apparently had knocked them out with their groovy blend of energetic garage rock and relentless tongue-in-cheek playfulness.

And now, Rhythm Barrel Records is very proud to present: Boomhauer's return. They are back in recorded form, still on vinyl only and still on an 6-song EP. Lies About Women (the 2nd record in a trilogy of vinyl EPs that will be completed later with a third similarly packaged slab) sees the trio tighter than ever, more in-your-face and even more frenzied.

Boomhauer may still be best enjoyed live on stage, complete with band leader Saku Krappala's charismatic stage presence and absurd stand-up comedy banter but Lies About Women is as good a substitution for the real thing as possible, sporting rocking live favourites Kitty and New Jersey Out There and great examples of the more comic side of the band in Pretty Girl In The Audience and Good Feeling About Bad Things.

The release of Lies About Women co-incided with a radio broadcasted show at Tavastia Club, Helsinki (also filmed for later use on TV!) and some nice related airplay on the Finnish national radio (Radiomafia). With opportunities like that handed to them and constant gigging around Finland, Boomhauer may go far. Be the coolest guy in the neighbourhood and hop on board at the stage when they still released vinyl only EPs and had not "sold out" or whatever. Good things happen to good bands, you know.
