Leaky Soles are a trio formed in November 2003 in Turku, Finland. The band members ( Janne Rinne/vocals & guitar, Kalle Ahti/bass and Jussi Rantanen/drums & backing vocals) are all experienced musicians in the Turku indie scene and found each other through various music projects after playing in different bands for years.

Simple Songs For Complicated People is Leaky Soles’ debut album, a strong presentation of their skills in songcraft and subtle sense of melody. The music of Leaky Soles has been described melodic indierock or distorted indiepop, some people have also detected influences of American emo punk.

Playing the references game might take one from the early 90’s indie big guns such as The Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr, Sebadoh and Superchunk to more recent names like The Weakerthans, The Get Up Kids and Nada Surf. However, the mixture of sounds and styles heard on the debut is a pure 100% Leaky Soles concoction.
