Where do I begin with this review? Well, here goes. Agents Mulder and Scully are on the scene again. This time, the scene is on the big screen. And having not been a regular viewer of the tv series, its difficult for me to compare/contrast between the series and the movie. I wont touch the plot with a 10 ft. pole because I still dont know what it is. Confusing would be putting it very gently. A general idea would be to say its about secret government plans, cover ups, aliens, and viruses. Sounds more than just confusing, doesn't it? Duchovny handles himself quite well on the big screen. His brash, occasionally humored character lends a helping hand in the film. Anderson is just along for the ride.
I didnt see as many special effects as the movie advertised, but enough to get enjoyment out of the film as a whole. This movie may just be a 2 hour blockbuster that couldve been shown on the small screen, but who cares. Its clever enough to be thought of as a movie. Im giving it a high mark for its creativity and very chilling suspense. The X-Files have been re-opened...for a chance at a sequel. |
