With THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, Pierce Brosnan has now played the James Bond character three times. And he keeps getting better and better. This time out, # 19 to be exact, 007 must stop an "already dead" madman (Robert Carlyle) from setting off a nuclear warhead. He'll have help, as usual. Only this time, longtime gadget man "Q" won't be making the devices anymore. Yes, this is "Q's" final appearance in the Bond franchise. He's being replaced by John Cleese, who is none other than "R".

This Bond flick follows the same formula as the others have: action, suspense, beautiful women, and lots of style. There are scenes that are impossible for someone to pull off, but James Bond can. He makes the impossible seem possible. No matter who is playing him, James Bond is the coolest character you will ever see.

The action in this film is non-stop. The film starts off with a nifty boat chase that is very exciting. A thrilling ski chase follows. There are at least 5 or 6 big action sets with each one topping the previous.

As with any 007 outing, you'll find plenty of the spiffy one-liners. I counted about 4 that were downright hysterical. Brosnan, thankfully, has put the charm back in Bond. He and Sean Connery are clearly the top Bonds. Dalton was the replacement for Brosnan in the late 80s when Brosnan was tied up in contractual agreements. And Roger Moore, who was pretty good in his early films, eventually began to age along with the series.

In all, this Bond has something for everyone. And the story is actually pretty easy to follow this time. The Bond Franchise is the longest running in history. With movies like THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, don't expect to see 007 retire any time soon. One of the better entries.
