This comedy reminds you of everything that was ignorant about the '80s. From break-dancing to those terrible songs to those terrible clothes, you get reminded of the '80s. And although the jokes seem repetitive, you don't mind seeing them because it is so hilarious to watch Adam Sandler and co. poke fun of those wonder years.
Sandler plays a rock star turned wedding singer who gets stood up at his own wedding. When all is lost, he meets his one true love, Drew Barrymore, who plays a waitress serving at the same wedding receptions that Sandler sings at. Throughout the movie, aside from the '80s jokes, she loses interest in her scum groom-to-be and starts falling in love with the wedding singer. Getting a lot of laughs and seeing Barrymore's good looks is the perfect combination for a movie that doesn't dazzle you with great effects or oscar type acting, but it just tries to have fun. |
