Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
CAST: Humphrey Bogart, John Holt, Walter Huston
DIRECTOR: John Huston
MPAA RATING: NR
RUNNING TIME: 126 Minutes
STUDIO: Warner Brothers

3 down on their luck fellows are off to seek gold in Mexico. Performances are great, with standouts by Humphrey Bogart and William Huston. John Huston directs his father, who took home a Best Supporting Actor award. This was one of Bogart's best performances, yet he did not even receive a nomination.

Terrific story and excellent setting make this one of the best. Plenty of action to be absorbed, particularly the scenes involving Mexican bandits. Never a dull moment, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre shows how much gold and greed can control a man's mind. A classic that is a must see.
