TOP GUN was the biggest hit of 1986 grossing over $150 million. With a combination of intense jet sequences, a booming soundtrack, and a love story, it's hard not to believe audiences didn't flock to see this. Though the scenes with Cruise and McGillis drag down the film's energy, you won't mind with Scott's neck-breaking pace. Those aerial shots of the jets are just awesome. The soundtrack has some classic 80s tunes, such as 'Danger Zone', which played throughout the film. Cliched story, but still fun.
