The battle for paradise is found in STAR TREK: INSURRECTION, the ninth entry in the series. An alien group called the Ba'ku have lived on a planet that offers them fountain of youth-like powers. The aging group called the Sona are very interested in the planet and will stop and nothing until they gain the Ba'ku's paradise.

Though the series is a little bit long in the tooth, the excitement is still to be found. This 'Trek' adventure has a very good story to go along with some very good special effects. The humor continues to grow in each movie. It appears that the producers want the crew to be a little more hip than they are in the series. Jonathan Frakes (Riker), who directed STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT, is back behind the camera for this adventure. He seems to mix the action, story, and humor quite nicely.

F. Murray Abraham (AMADEUS) plays the bad guy in this film. He's very convincing in the evil role. Picard and crew are back and they're stronger than ever. INSURRECTION should please trekkies as well as people seeking a good sci-fi adventure.
