Captain Picard has been hoping for six years that his nightmare experience with The Borg would never come true again. Unfortunately for him, and civilization, the Borg are back. This time, they travel back to 2063 to take over the entire world. The Enterprise must finish them off once and for all.

This is a dark entry into the usually light-hearted series. It may very well be the darkest of all the Trek movies. This is the first time the Next Generation crew gets to handle the whole picture. They succeed nicely. Though the Kirk crew is classic, Picard's crew adds a little more bite to their roles.

The effects are sensational and the plot, though complex, is very intriguing. The Borg offer a presence similar to Khan's in THE WRATH OF KHAN. Though I would have liked more screen time for them, the Borg are clearly the best villians of the Next Generation series. Second best effort in the long series.
