Made in 1960, Spartacus is the true Hollywood epic film. Not only is it one of the greatest films of all-time, this masterpiece also boasts an excellent cast. Douglas is fantastic as Spartacus, with Olivier and Curtis providing strong supporting performances. Peter Ustinov is outstanding as the greedy slave trader.

The cinematography and sets match the fine cast. There some gorgeous shots by Kubrick in this film. And the battle scenes are not only exciting, but very realistic. 8,000 genuine Spanish soldiers were used in the scenes.
