Most of the time, sequels usually don't fare as well as the original movie. The same is said for this sequel, although it just barely ranks behind its predecessor. The only factor being that the original was fresh with new ideas that had not been seen in slasher flicks. That's not to say it wasn't a joy to watch the victims get sliced and diced again, in fact, there were more murders in this go-around.
The killer(s) was/were a surprise and possibly a tad bit disappointing. Nevertheless, this proves that the "Scream" franchise will keep on killing. There could wind up being as many sequels to SCEEAM as there are sequels to HALLOWEEN. If I had my way, SCREAM 3 would be the last in this terrific series. |
